What are the risks of thyroid disorders in pregnancy?


It is estimated that around one in 20 pregnant women will develop an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) during pregnancy.12

Most women are unaware that they have this condition because the symptoms are similar to the changes in the body due to pregnancy, such as weight gain, fatigue, and leg swelling.12,13
